You Are A Part of Their Success

The Veterans Memorial Band is a student-led organization supported by the Veterans Memorial HS Screaming Eagle Band Boosters. Because your child is in band, you ARE a member of the VMHS Band Booster Club. It takes the untiring support from our Booster Club Parents, YOU, for the band to attain its highest potential. So how can you help?

CCISD Volunteer Registration/Renewal is required EVERY YEAR before you can volunteer. Click Here to start.

Chaperones - Football Games

Chaperones assist the students at all times: escorting them to and from the stadium during bathroom breaks, inserting and removing plumes in the student's shakos, collecting flip folders after the Starline performance, preparing the bleacher area for the band before the game, ensuring the bleacher area is clean after teh game, and other miscellaneous duties that may aride. You will remain in the stands with the students for the entire football game.

Road Crew

The road crew help move band equipment on and off the field for performances. This includes the props, front ensemble equipment, and the drum major podiums. While the band equipment is easy to move, there will be lifting involved. You must be able to freely walk while pushing and pulling heavy equipment over 50 lbs. Road Crew members also help load and unload the box trucks at football games and contests.

Chaperone- Away Game Buses

These chaperones will ride the buses to away games when drivers are not available from CCISD and the directors are required to drive the equipment trucks. We will need one or two parents per bus to sit in the middle to help separate male and female students. Bus chaperones will also help make sure buses are kept neat and clean during and after the trip.

“Volunteering with the Band and Boosters was a deeply rewarding experience. It allowed us to support the organization, connect with the students and their families, and forge many new lifelong friendships over the years. Through our volunteer work, we were not only able to support the band students, but also spend invaluable quality time with our own child, creating cherished memories in the process.."

Eva Leyva, Parent- Class of 2023 and 2026
