Sponsor Veterans Memorial's New Band Trailer

The Screaming Eagle Band at Veterans Memorial High School (Corpus Christi, TX) is seeking significant funding for a semi-trailer purpose-built to transport instruments and equipment to local and state marching events.

The Band

 

The Veterans Memorial Band is the largest student organization at Veterans Memorial High School and in the Corpus Christi Independent School District with over 150 members and growing. The band is a strong contender at regional and area UIL marching band contests. The program has consistently earned superior ratings at UIL marching contests, concert ensemble evaluations, and solo & small ensemble contests.

 

The band travels extensively each fall for all home and away football games, as well as multiple marching band competitions throughout the state of Texas.

 

The band program offers several performance opportunities for students with its competitive marching band, multiple concert bands, percussion ensembles, jazz, mariachi, chamber groups, and color guard. Students perform both traditional and contemporary literature from a wide range of composers from all backgrounds and time eras.

 

The band program strives to foster a love for music and appreciation for the arts through a dedication of hard work and excellence in performance.

THE TRAILER

Currently, the Screaming Eagle Band rents 3-4 U-Haul trucks to move all of our equipment every time we have an event such as a football game or marching contest. This is a logistical and financial strain on the program and district.

A customized 53' trailer is needed to deliver a large volume of instruments and equipment to enable our team to march.

The trailer must be outfitted with interior and exterior lighting, self-sufficient power and control systems, a full-width rear loading ramp, and a modern 2nd deck for additional storage.

The exterior will be wrapped in a Veterans Memorial Band design and will allow for the inclusion of sponsor logos.

Trailer Design Goals

  • Safety- we must ensure the safety of the students and volunteers

  • Efficiency- We must quickly move items in and out of the trailer for contests and performances

  • Engagement- The trailer design will make an impact for the Veterans Memorial Band and our sponsors

  • Longevity- The anticipated lifespan of the trailer is 25-40 years.
